The 2009 Johnston County Parade of Homes is changing and is taking shape with the promise of a completely new
and exciting event explained Sherry Pinney-Phillips, Executive Officer of the Home Builders Association of Johnston
County. This year the HBAJC renamed the parade to the PARADE OF WOW because there is a home in every price
range that will give consumers the opportunity to say “WOW” as they explore their features.
If you have not been house-hunting for several years, the Parade of WOW is a good way to see what's new in styles,
designs and decorating and say “WOW, things have really changed.” The parade features homes from the mid
$160,000’s to over $500,000. Other features such as high efficiency heating/cooling systems, low-e windows and
huge closets can be seen in town home communities to luxury home communities, everyone will be WOW’d at
everything the parade and Johnston County has to offer.
This year’s PARADE OF WOW will be held the weekends of Sept. 12-13, 19-20 and 26-27. On Saturdays, the homes
are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sundays, from 1 to 6 p.m. It is FREE to tour the parade.
The parade is presented by the Home Builders Association of Johnston County for its 15th year. The HBAJC was
formed in 1979 with just a few members and has grown to more than 380 members today. This nonprofit organization
represents the building industry through involvement in government, education and community development and
strives to be leaders of the community through social and economic development as well as the voice of the building
industry.
The twenty-four homes will be judged in all categories, with bronze, silver and gold awards being presented to the
winners. Parade of WOW builders include Terramor Homes, Hog Heaven Homes, Adams Homes, Braswell Homes,
Darryl D. Evans Inc., Rivers Edge Construction, O’Connell Developing, BLS Inc., Veronelli Homes, Sadler homes,
Inland Builders, Asset Development, Diamond Contracting, RH Construction, Carolina Craftsmen, Lighthouse
Custom Homes and Exquisite Homes. There is something for everyone to WOW!
